My web design company Skyymap was part of a talent acquisition by American Systems and so we did all of their eLearning projects for their clients in their Atlanta office. One of our big customers was Macy’s Systems and Technology. We created a custom orientation eLearning course for their employees. Since this consisted of two employee types IT and Human Resources we created a concept similar to the Mac Guy vs. PC Guy concept.
I engaged the local talent agencies, gave them scripts and our requirements for talent. I also found a local studio with a chromakey and shot the talent against that, so they could be keyed over a virtual Macy’s show room floor. I directed the video, created the scripts and I even made Macy’s security badges as props for them to wear at the shooting. I directed our 3D artist to achieve the look and lighting we needed as well for the virtual Macy's store.
I created three initial eLearning player comps for them one in red, black and silver metal. They liked them so much, they didn’t want to use them for this small project but save them for a larger one, so I created a fourth player mock up in blue glass. All of these were custom and created in vector in Adobe Illustrator.
In the end we presented the client with the entire finished product as well as a comprehensive manual on how to use the LMS and course player to create and update their eLearning.
